Malkangiri: Maoists once again unleashed terror in tribal-dominated Malkangiri district by killing a man suspecting him to be a police informer.
The deceased has been identified as Ganga Madkami of Sudakhunta village under Kalimela police limits in the district.
According to villagers, a group of 15-20 armed extremists barged into Madkami’s house last night when he was sleeping and dragged him out of his dwelling. They forcibly took him to a cremation ground near the village and gunned him down.
The rebels also left a letter near the body through which they threatened the locals of similar consequences if they worked for police personnel.
Police recovered the body this morning with bullet injuries on the stomach and ear.
On Tuesday night, a person was shot dead by Maoists while three others sustained critical injuries near Barsuan village in Sundargarh district.
The deceased, Sunil Munda, along with Piyush Munda, Tuicha Munda and Fransis Munda were on their way back home in a truck after attending a funeral when the incident took place.
Some locals told the cops that the four were attacked by Maoists on suspicion of passing information to police.
