Bhubaneswar: The capital city witnessed a fall in daily COVID positive cases as 162 persons tested positive for the disease in the last 24 hours compared to 288 new cases on Friday.
While 258 new patients were registered in the city on Thursday, their number was 221 on Wednesday, 226 on Tuesday and 172 on Monday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), of the total cases on the day, 45 were from quarantine and 117 local contacts.
Of the local contacts, maximum 10 cases were reported from Nayapalli, followed by 8 from Sailashree Vihar and 7 from Chandrasekharpur.
As many as 153 more patients recovered from the disease in the city in the last 24 hours. The number of deceased due to COID has remained at 1,009.
The active cases have gone up to 3,341 while total 1,09,240 people have been infected so far.
