Berhampur: The Ganjam district administration on Monday sealed Ganesh Market at Bada Bazar in Berhampur for violation of lockdown norms by opening of shops dealing with non-essential items.
On Sunday, Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange had said that only shops selling essential items will be allowed to remain open from 7 am to 12 noon during the two-week lockdown in the district.
Besides, there will be no plying of buses, auto-rickshaws, and private vehicles in the district during the lockdown period. Moreover, the two-day weekly shutdown on Saturdays and Sundays will also remain in force till June 30.
Also on Monday, Ganjam district reported eight more corona positive cases, taking the total number of cases in the district to 690.
