Koraput: A married woman was rescued after she jumped into Kolab dam in Odisha’s Koraput district reportedly over family dispute on Thursday.
According to sources, the woman, identified as Chandini Bisoyi of Kusumuguda under Koraput Sadar police limits, had planned to visit her in-law’s house with her husband Gopalkrushna Bisoyi to celebrate Diwali. But she did not go due to some problems with her husband. However, Gopalkrushna left with their four-year-old son.
Later, Chandini had a heated argument with her husband over phone. Following this, she went in a bus to Duruguda near Koraput. She got down from the bus near Kolab bridge and jumped into the river.
On being informed by the locals, Fire services personnel went to the bridge and started search operation. after a prolonged search, they found Chandini in unconscious condition and rushed her to the local hospital. Her condition was stated to be critical.
Gopalkrushna works in the Public Health Engineering Organisation (PHEO). The couple were married six years back.
