Kandhamal: He is barely five years old. But he has extra-ordinary memory and knowledge for a child of his age. Meet Hardik Kumar Nayak from Kandhamal.
Hardik looks like any normal child of a village and loves to play. But ask him the capital of any state of India and prompt comes the right reply. He can also flawlessly say the names of many countries and their geographical locations.
At an age when a child fumbles to speak out his name, can recite Shlokas and Mantras with clarity and appropriate pronunciation. No wonder, he is liked and loved by one and all in the village.
Belonging to Dadapada village under G Udayagiri block, four-and-a-half-year-old Hardik studies in an Anganwadi centre. His father Ranjit Nayak is a daily wage worker and mother, a home maker.
Hardik’s father is proud of his son, but he is also worried about his future. “With his unusual powerful memory, Hardik can remember many things. No doubt, he will excel in his studies and achieve success in life. But, how can I ensure proper education to him from my meagre income,” said Ranjit.
“All people of our village love Hardik a lot. He is a talented kid. But his talent may go waste, if he does not get adequate patronisation. The government should extend a helping hand to nurture his talent so that he can be a successful man in future and make his parents proud,” said secretary of Antaranga Yuva Mahasangh, a youth club of the area.
