New Delhi: They were doing computer science at Stanford University, but both dropped out to become entrepreneurs.
Now, Kaivalya Vohra and Aadit Palicha, co-founders of quick delivery startup Zepto, are the youngest entrepreneurs to feature in the IIFL Wealth-Hurun India Rich List 2022.
Kaivalya is just 19 years of age, and the youngest among richest Indians. He is ranked 1036 with a net worth of Rs 1,000 crore on the Hurun list, while 21-year-old Aadit is at No. 950 with a net worth of Rs 1,200 crore.
They are also the youngest start-up founders in the Hurun India Future Unicorn Index 2022.
Earlier, they had featured in Forbes magazine’s influential ‘30 under 30 (Asia list)’ in the e-commerce category.
“A teenager debuts the list! The youngest on the list is 19-year-old Kaivalya Vohra who founded Zepto. The youngest, ten years ago, was 37 and today, is 19, indicating the impact of the start-up revolution,” Hurun India Rich List mentioned.
Kaivalya and Aadit were childhood friends, who grew up in Dubai and had big dreams from a young age.
A teenaged Aadit was a project lead with PryvaSee, an artificial intelligence (AI)-based project on privacy policies, before founding GoPool — a carpool service for students – at the age of 17 in 2018.
The two friends then decided to join hands, and launched the startup Kiranakart — an online platform that delivered grocery items from local stores in Mumbai – in June 2020 and it was operational till March 2021.
In April 202, they started Zepto, raising an impressive $60 million in the initial funding round in November, followed by another $100 million at a valuation of $570 million in December.
In its latest round of funding, the quick grocery delivery platform raised $200 million at a valuation of $900 million in May this year.
