Bhubaneswar: The coronavirus-induced prolonged lockdown has hit all sections of the society hard, be it financially or mentally. With a view to addressing people’s needs, teams from District Mental Health Programme of the Odisha government’s Health and Family Welfare Department (H&FW) have been visiting Temporary Medical Centres (TMCs) to help people keep their spirits up.

“During #COVID19 crisis, DMHP team has visited more than 813 TMC centres and counselled 39,123 migrants on anxiety, depression, panic disorders and substance abuse cases. Ten teams have been formed across 3 districts to provide telecounselling on mental health,” H&FW Department, Odisha said via a tweet with hashtag #OdishaCares.

A user replied to that tweet, praising good arrangements at the quarantine centres. The user also brought to notice of the authorities about certain centres which were without electricity connection and requested action be taken.

According to government data, a total of 5,43,905 Odia migrant workers have returned to the state, including 4,968 people on Sunday. All of them are lodged in several quarantine centres across the state.
