New Delhi: Mercedes-Benz India has finally unveiled the AMG S63 Coupe in India. The 3-door S-Class derivative AMG sportscar is priced at ₹ 2.55 crore, ex-showroom throughout India.
The AMG S63 Coupe will be imported to India as a completely built-up unit (CBU). A Cabriolet version is available abroad and is expected to come to India later.
It is powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 612 bhp power and 900 Nm of torque and this makes it the fastest S-Class in the market. Mated to a AMG Speedshift MCT 9G transmission, the S 63 does 0-100 kmph in just 3.5 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 300 kmph.
The car gets 20-inch forged alloys as standard. Sporty bits such as the 12 o’clock marking on the steering wheel give it a distinct AMG feel. As expected, the car is loaded with gizmos such as AMG Cylinder deactivation system, AMG speed-sensitive steering, AMG RIDE CONTROL+ suspension with variable damper control, adjustable AMG Performance exhaust that can change the exhaust note of the car. Apart from regular safety features such as airbags, ESP, ABS and traction control, the car gets an optional safety pack which has radar based lane hold, adaptive cruise control and blind spot monitoring systems.
Mercedes has launched the S-Class facelift a few months back and says that there are more models expected to be launched this year.
