Bhubaneswar: Heatwave-like situation intensified in several parts of the State on Tuesday with the mercury soaring up to 40 degrees Celsius in Bhubaneswar.
“Ten places in Odisha recorded temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. The highest maximum temperature of 42.4 degrees Celsius was recorded at Malkangiri. There is a possibility of low pressure over Bay of Bengal on April 14 and 15,” said an officer at local meteorological centre here.
The state government has enforced morning school hour for both government and private educational institutions since April 2. The school and mass education department has been asked to ensure completion of all examinations by April-end.
