Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department, here on Sunday issued orange warning for 5 districts of Odisha for next 24 hours.
In a midday bulletin, the Met office forecast that thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada districts in next 24 hours.
Similarly, yellow warning has been issued for Jagatsinghpur, Kandhamal, Puri, Ganjam, Khurda, Nayagarh and Cuttack districts where thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely during the period.
In Bhubaneswar, rain or thundershower is likely to occur towards afternoon or evening. Maximum and minimum temperature is likely to be 38 and 20 degree Celsius respectively. The city registered maximum temperature of 39.2 degree and minimum 19.5 degree Celsius on Saturday.
The rest of the districts are likely to witness dry weather in 24 hours. No large change in maximum temperature is likely during next 2 days and it will increase thereafter by 2-3 degree Celsius across the state.
