Bhubaneswar: Respecting the sentiment and aesthetic sense of the people of Odisha’s Millennium City, the Railway Ministry has sought their opinion and suggestions in the design for redevelopment of Cuttack railway station.
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday uploaded the pictures of the proposed design of the redeveloped railway station on his Twitter account and sought public opinion on it.
Stating that the design has been prepared with inspiration from the city’s Barabati Fort architecture, the Minister requested the public to give a rating on the design. Based on the public rating, further course of action would be taken, he added.
The minister has asked the public to give a rating on a scale of 10. 10 out of 10 would be rated as extraordinary, 9 as excellent, 7 as very good and 5 as good.
The pictures show the outer look of the station, booking counters, waiting hall, departure gate, entrance, roof plaza and suburban roof plaza in the complex.
The tweet elicited a good response from the people. “Can be improved more. Pls share some more pics to have more clarity,” wrote a netizen.
“Pl make it user friendly. Easy access to senior citizens & disabled people! Also most of the people travel with heavy luggage, so if we can implement trolley system like airport. I think that is more important than architecture,” wrote another in the comment.
