Cuttack: A minor boy reportedly drowned and went missing while bathing in a waterfall in Odisha’s Cuttack district on Wednesday.
According to sources, the 15-year-old boy along with his family members and relatives had gone on a picnic to the waterfall at Deojhar under block in the district in the morning. The boy and his relatives went to take bath in the waterfall while his parents remained in nearby forest to make preparation for cooking.
“He was having fun and taking pictures of the waterfall while we were bathing. After some time, we found him missing. Thinking that he might have gone to his parents, we also came out of the waterfall. But he was not with his parents. Then we started searching for him in the forest and the water also but failed to trace him,” said one of the relatives of the boy.
Later, on being informed a team from Narsinghpur police station came to the spot and started investigation. After some time, ODRAF personnel also went to the waterfall to start search operation. Three search parties were engaged in tracing the minor boy. But the boy was not found till evening, the sources said.
