Nayagarh: Two minor siblings reportedly drowned to death in Kusumi River near Baunsiapada village of Odisha’s Nayagarh district on Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as Dittikrushna Sethy’s daughter Kajal (12) and son Sai (8) of Baunsiapada under Itamati police limits.
According to sources, the siblings along with their mother were taking a bath in the river when they were swept away by the water current. Locals nearby rushed to the spot hearing the mother’s cry and pulled the children out.
They were taken on bikes to Baunsiapada community health centre (CHC) where they were declared dead on arrival.
A case of unnatural death has been registered at Itamati police station.
