Boudh: Tension erupted at Purunakatak community health centre in Boudh district on Tuesday following the death of a minor girl.
According to available information, the eight-year-old girl identified as Tapaswini Bhakta of Purunakatak area was admitted to the health centre by her family members last night after she complained of severe stomach pain.
However, she died while undergoing treatment this morning, following which her family members had a heated argument with the doctors treating her and the staff of the health centre. They later locked up the gate of the health centre and staged a dharna in front of it by placing the body of the child on the road.
The agitators alleged that the child died due to medical negligence and demanded strict action against those responsible for the same.
On receiving information about the incident, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
