Cuttack: A 8-year-old minor boy died while his mother remains missing after the duo jumped into Chitraptala river near Nemalo in Nischintkoili on Wednesday.
After receiving an alert, police and fire personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the child. However, the minor was declared dead by doctors at a local hospital.
Till last reports came, the woman remained missing and efforts were on to trace her. Their identity and the reason behind the extreme step is yet to be ascertained, police said.
