Keonjhar: Two unidentified miscreants allegedly attacked two brothers and looted Rs 1.5 lakh from them in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Thursday.
According to sources, the two brothers, identified as Sarat Sahu and Bharat Sahu of Golagadia village under Kankadahada police limits of Dhenkanal, do their business in Telkoi town of Keonjhar district. The incident took place in the afternoon when they had gone to the weekly market in the town to purchase some goods.
The two miscreants came on a bike and one of them tried to snatch the money bag from Sahu brothers. As the siblings resisted the miscreants, the latter brought out a gun and threatened them.
As a scuffle ensued and the locals gathered, the miscreants attacked the two brothers with a dagger and decamped with the money bag. The locals rushed the brothers, who were critically injured, to the hospital at Sirigida. Sarat, who sustained injuries on different parts of body, was stated to be in critical condition.
On being informed, a team from Telkoi police station arrived at the market and started investigation.
