Bhubaneswar: Two unidentified miscreants brutally attacked a woman after barging into her house at Lane-IV in Jagannath Nagar under Saheed Nagar police limits in Odisha capital on Wednesday afternoon.
The victim has been identified as Geetanjali Paltasingh.
According to sources, the miscreants forcefully entered her house on the second floor at Jagannath Nagar in the afternoon. They then gaged the woman and attacked her with sharp weapons when she resisted the loot attempt.
Later the two miscreants decamped with gold jewellery and her mobile phone.
The injured woman was admitted to the Capital Hospital here in a critical condition, the sources added.
Meanwhile, police have begun an investigation into the loot.
