Balasore: Unidentified miscreants looted a bank ATM at a village in Remuna area of Odisha’s Balasore district.
The incident reportedly took place near Khirachora Gopinath temple in Remuna area, sources said on Sunday.
The SBI ATM, which is situated barely 30 meters from a police outpost, was targeted by the miscreants who looted cash from the facility in the wee hours of Sunday.
The miscreants used a gas cutter to break the ATM and took away cash. The ATM has reportedly been completely damaged by the miscreants.
The incident came to light in the morning when some locals spotted the damaged condition of the ATM and informed the police. A team of police personnel rushed to the site and launched an investigation into the incident. Efforts are on to examine the CCTV footages.
The exact amount looted by the miscreants from the ATM is yet to be ascertained.
