Bhadrak: Unidentified miscreants looted gold ornaments and cash from a jewellery shop on Manjuri Road under Bhandaripokhari police limits in Odisha’s Bhadrak district late on Thursday.
The robbers allegedly covered the front of the shop with a black plastic sheet before breaking open the shutter of the shop indicating a well-thought-out plan to conceal their activities and avoid detection.
The exact amount of gold and cash stolen is yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, police have launched a manhunt to nab the culprits.
Notably, there has been a surge in robbery cases in the state, including Bhubaneswar and other parts of the state. In a similar incident, miscreants looted Rs 10 lakh at gunpoint from a private transport agency office in Koida of Sundargarh district on Thursday.
