Cuttack: Miscreants looted money from a branch of Canara Bank located at Uttaran village near Adaspur area in Cuttack district late on Saturday.
After coming to the bank, the employees found the main gate as well as lockers of the bank, were broken. They immediately informed the police.
Police suspect that the looters had entered the branch by breaking open the main gate when the bank was closed.
“We have started investigation into the matter. Efforts are on to trace and nab the looters on the basis of the footage of the CCTV cameras installed in the nearby areas. We are also conducting raids at different places in the district to catch hold of the criminals,” a police officer informed.
However, the bank officials are yet to ascertain the amount of cash looted from the branch.
