Bhubaneswar: Unidentified miscreants allegedly looted over Rs 10 lakh from an ATM of the State Bank of India (SBI) in Odisha capital.
The loot was reported from an SBI ATM kiosk located at Hatasahi under the jurisdiction of Lingaraj police station in Bhubaneswar.
As per initial information, the robbers decamped with around Rs 10 lakh cash from the ATM after breaking it open by using gas cutters in the wee hours of Monday.
Some locals had reportedly alerted the police after suspecting movement of people in the area. However, the miscreants had left the site before the arrival of the police.
As per sources, cash was loaded in the ATM on Saturday. Around Rs 10.59 lakh was suspected to have been stolen from the ATM. The looters were stated to have sprayed some chemicals on the CCTV before committing the crime, sources added.
