Miscreants rob jewellery shop, employee shot at in Mayurbhanj

Mayurbhanj: Six armed robbers looted a jewellery shop at Udala in Mayurbhanj district on Monday.

An employee of the shop, identified as Sukant Behera, was injured after one of the miscreants fired on him before fleeing the spot. Behera was shot in the chest and rushed to Udala hospital in a critical condition.

Another employee tried to stop the robbers while they were about to start their motorcycles, but they managed to escape after hurling a bomb in front of the shop, reports said.

In a separate incident, a man was stabbed to death by three assailants near RDD School at Bonai of Sundrgarh district. He was identified as Ladu Patra.
