Rourkela: Four persons were detained by police on Wednesday after the body of a Rourkela native, who went missing on September 24, was recovered from a coal-laden train in the neighbouring Chhattisgarh.
Though cops are yet to issue a statement on the incident, it is suspected that the alleged murder could be a fallout of his relationship with a girl in the city.
According to sources, deceased Srinivas Rao (28), who hailed from Deogarh district, was residing at Gopabandhu Palli here. He was working at a cloth store in the city. The girl’s family were against their relationship and had been opposing it.
On Tuesday, Roa’s kin lodged a missing complaint with Plantsite police, alleging that he had been kidnapped. While conducting an investigation, they were informed by Raigarh police regarding the recovery of a body from the train. A team of the Plantsite police has left for Raigarh to bring back the body.
The detainees are being questioned and further investigation is underway, the sources added.
