Bhubaneswar: The staff of Mo Bus staged a demonstration in Bhubaneswar in protest against alleged assault on a conductor by a passenger on Sunday.
According to sources, while Mo Bus number 16, operated by Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT), was goingto its destination, one of its passengers allegedly attacked the conductor over unknown issue.
Following the attack, the conductors and drivers of Mo Bus stopped plying the vehicles and staged a demonstration at Master Canteen in the capital city in the evening.
They demanded immediate arrest of the passenger who had attacked the Mo Bus conductor. They threatened not to resume the bus operation until their demand was fulfilled.
As their strike affected vehicular movement in the busy junction, a team from Kharavel police station went to the spot and tried to pacify the agitating Mo Bus staff.
The police have detained the accused passenger and were questioning him.
