Sambalpur: Mo Bus services came to a halt in Odisha’s Sambalpur as conductors staged a protest in the city over various demands on Monday.

The protesters alleged that the management of Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) failed pay any attention to the welfare and interest of the employees.

Claiming that the future of Mo Bus staff is uncertain, the demonstrators alleged that the management imposes penalty and suspends employees over trivial issues. Explanations given by employees for various issues are always ignored, they claimed.

In case of mishaps, the management never helps the staff and asks them to deal with the problem on their own, they claimed.

Stating that they have no proof about being employed by CRUT, the protesters said the management never bothered about the plight of the employees

They said a fine of Rs 5,000 is imposed if a ticket collector forgets to collect ticket from any passenger and the penalty is received only in cash.

The protesting ticket collectors threatened to intensify their agitation if justice is not given to them.
