Sambalpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday asserted that the BJP-led government at the Centre will leave no stone unturned to ensure speedy development of Odisha.

Addressing a public meeting at Remed Ground in Sambalpur, Modi said the recent budget provides guarantee for the development of all sections of people in the state.

Stressing that “Modi’s Guarantee Means Guarantee Pura Hone Ki Guarantee”, the Prime Minister said that under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, crores of farmers have got direct benefit, including around 40 lakh from Odisha.

Stating that projects worth Rs 70,000 crore were launched by him earlier in the day, Modi said the BJP-led government is working for elevating the status of poor, women, farmers and fishermen.

As over 40 lakh farmers from Odisha are benefitted by PM Kisan scheme, Rs 30,000 is sent to each farmer’s account by the Centre, he said.

While the previous government procured paddy worth Rs 36,000 crore under the MSP mechanism from Odisha, Modi said the present government has procured paddy worth Rs 1.10 lakh crore from the state as BJP is seriously working for true empowerment of farmers.

Similarly, the BJP government is taking all steps to make fisheries sector vibrant and empower fishermen in the country, the PM said, adding that the government continues to lay emphasis on improving the lives of fish farmers.

The government is also working towards ensuring increasing household savings with the provision of Rs 10,000 crore for the rooftop solar scheme in the Budget, he said.

Likewise, the Centre also extended the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme to ASHA & Anganwadi workers who will get medical care services up to Rs 5 lakh, Modi said.

Coming down heavily on Congress, Modi accused the previous govt at the Centre of having treated tribals only as vote bank. However; in the last 10 years, the BJP has been continuously working towards the development of tribals in Odisha and other states, he said.

Hitting out at Congress for having opposed President Droupadi Murmu’s candidature for the top post; the PM said the Congress action was not only an insult to Droupadi Murmuji but an insult to all tribals as well as Odisha.
