Bhubaneswar: The south-west monsoon on Saturday covered at least nine of the 30 districts of Odisha.
The districts are Khurda, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Puri, Kandhamal, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Gajapati and Malkangiri.
According to a bulletin issued by the regional meteorological centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) here, the monsoon is making further advances into several other parts of the state in the next 48 hours.
Heavy rainfall is most likely to occur at most parts of north Odisha within the next 24 hours, the Met bulletin stated.
Meanwhile, a woman identified as Tribeni Singh was killed after being hit by lightning strike at Kukudapada village under Morada tehsil in Mayurbhanj district.
She had gone to graze her cattle to an agricultural field near the village when the incident took place.
On Friday, more than ten persons were killed while eleven others sustained injuries by lightning strike at different places including Kendrapara, Khurda, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur and Puri districts of the state.
