“Light to moderate rain or thundershower is likely to occur at many places on June 20 and 21,” informed Scientist, Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre, Umasankar Das. Heavy rainfall warning has been issued for one or two places in Ganjam, Kandhamal and Mayurbhanj districts on June 20.

Notably, the state had received 33.7 mm rainfall till Friday since the onset of monsoon on Thursday with the highest of 80 mm in Koraput in the last 24 hours. While heavy rain lashed one or two places in Koraput and Kandhamal on Thursday, there was heavy rainfall warning for one or two places in Jajpur, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack and Nayagarh on Friday.
