Bhubaneswar: The day temperature is likely to fall by 3 degree Celsius in parts of Odisha from Wednesday, reducing the impact of the prevailing hot and humid weather, SOA’s Centre for Environment and Climate (CEC) here said.

“The discomfort caused by the prevailing weather will further wane in the state’s coastal and southern region from June 20. This will cause the day temperature to be around 35 degree Celsius or less from that day,” it said, adding similar condition may prevail in western Odisha from June 22.

It further said that Arabian branch of monsoon is likely to be strengthened from Tuesday with westerly wind flow, which is expected to favour occurrence of pre-monsoon rain on June 18 and 19. The onset of South West monsoon in south Odisha districts and Bhubaneswar is expected on June 20.

Rainfall may further increase from June 26 and continue till June 28, it added.
