Nayagarh: A woman and her minor daughter drowned in a pond while taking bath at Gholahandi village under Daspalla police limits in Odisha’s Nayagarh district on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased have been identified as Reena Pradhan (28) and her daughter Barsha (12).
According to sources, the girl slipped into deep water while bathing and her mother also drowned while trying to rescue her. They were recused and taken to Daspalla Community Health Centre, where doctors declared them brought dead.
Police have sent the bodies for postmortem.
