Paradip: A biker died after being run over by a gas tanker near Odisha’s Paradip on Tuesday, triggering tension in the area.
The deceased has been identified as Prabhat Patra of Garjanga village in Kendrapada. He was working in the pipeline division of a private company in Paradip.
According to sources, Prabhat was on his way to work inside Paradip Refinery when the gas tanker dashed against his bike. While the biker died on the spot, the driver of the gas tanker fled the scene after the accident.
On being informed, a police team reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem.
The gas tanker was seized by the police and investigation into the incident is underway.
