Mumbai: In connection with a case booked under Protection Of Children From Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, Mumbai Police questioned filmmaker Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor on Tuesday.
They were booked under the Act for allegedly showing inappropriate scenes involving minor girls in an episode of the ALT Balaji’s web series ‘Gandi Baat’.
They have been asked to appear for questioning again on October 24, reported the ANI, quoting Mumbai Police.
The case is related to season 6 of ‘Gandi Baat.’
An FIR into the matter was registered on October 18 night on the directives of the court. The alleged offence took place in February-April 2021.
At present, the controversial episode is off the air. The complainant also alleged that defamatory contents had been shown about great leaders and seers in the same series.
It had also been alleged that cops had not registered the complaint in the first instance, thereby prompting the complainant to move to court.
The investigation is now being carried out as per the court’s directives, reported The Indian Express.
