Mumbai: Mumbai Police on Sunday issued guidelines asking vehicle owners not to drive past 2-km radius from their residence without a valid reason.
Movement beyond 2-km radius is permitted for work or in case of medical emergencies only.
Vehicles will be impounded if the 2 km rule is violated.
The decision was reportedly taken to prevent overcrowding at public places such as beaches and to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection.
Besides, social distancing and wearing masks are compulsory. Night curfew between 9 pm and 5 am will also remain in force.
