Berhampur: The coronavirus-induced lockdown has brought many Good Samaritans to the fore. Murli Mohan Acharya of Berhampur is one among them.
Acharya has rented out a portion of his house to 12 families, who are small-scale business owners or street food vendors. The lockdown following the COVID-19 outbreak affected their businesses and eventually dried up their family income.
Considering the financial crisis of these families, Acharya decided to waive off their house rent and also provided 25 kg rice packet to each of them.
Berhampur Sub-Collector Shinde Dattatraya Bhausaheb praised Acharya for showing compassion to fellow beings amid this crisis and later felicitated him.
