Bhubaneswar: Famous music director Amarendra Mohanty died of COVID-19 at a private hospital here on Monday morning. He was 63.
His daughter, Anwesha Mohanty, confirmed the news. She informed that Mohanty had tested positive on April 24 and admitted to the hospital on May 3. However, his condition deteriorated and he was put on ventillator four days ago.
Popularly known as Bulu Bhai, Mohanty was born on February 6, 1958 in Kendrapada. But he was settled in Cuttack.
The late composer has several superhit Odia movies to his name.
These include the movie Vasudha, the song Puchuki Gali in Suna Panjuri, Rama Laxman, Bhai Hela Bhagari, Stree and Kandhei Akhire Luha among others.
