Bhubaneswar: Mutilated body of a woman journalist was found on railway tracks near Bapuji Nagar area in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday night.
She has been identified as Madhumita Parida, who was reportedly working for a web channel. The woman was reported to have got married recently. She was staying in a rented house in Bapuji Nagar area, sources said.
While the woman was suspected to have ended her life by jumping before a moving train, the exact reason will be ascertained only after a thorough investigation.
A team of Government Railway Police (GRP) visited the spot after getting information about the incident and seized the body, which was sent it to the Capital Hospital for postmortem.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident. Her family has been informed and the body will be handed over after autopsy.
Sources said the woman journalist reportedly shared a video on social media before her body was recovered from the railway tracks.
