National School Games: Jindal Sports Hostel Athletes From Odisha Clinch 5 Medals
Joda/Barbil: Athletes from Jindal Sports Hostel excelled at the 68th National School Games, claiming 5 medals in Wushu.
Of the 7 participants from the sports hostel, one of them bagged gold medal, three others claimed silver, and one clinched bronze medal at the School Games held in Jammu from November 22 to 26.
The medal winners are — Rajesh Nag (gold in 40 kg category), Madan Munda (silver in 45 kg), Ramesh Munda (silver in 48 kg), Malini Munda (silver in 36 kg) and Parbil Munda (bronze in 52 kg).
Jindal Sports Hostel, run by the Jindal Foundation, is a state-of-the-art residential facility for 60 children with exceptional sporting talent, who are encouraged to excel in sports and education.
“We are incredibly proud of the athletes from Jindal Sports Hostel. Their achievements reflect their dedication and hard work. Jindal Foundation remains committed to empowering rural and tribal youth through sports,” said Jindal Foundation chairperson Shallu Jindal.
Jindal Foundation has played a major role in supporting and promoting Wushu and Kickboxing in Odisha’s Keonjhar district for over a decade.
As a result, several sports talents from Joda-Barbil tribal region have brought glory to the state by excelling in multiple national and international tournaments.
Over 30,000 rural and tribal athletes have benefitted from Jindal Foundation’s sports initiatives across Wushu, kickboxing, hockey, football, cricket and archery.
