Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday felicitated Odisha’s 19 districts which were awarded “Bhoomi Samman” for achieving 100% computerisation of land records.

Speaking at the felicitation function in Bhubaneswar, the chief minister congratulated the revenue administration and the districts for the award. He expressed happiness for the districts which were selected from a total 68 districts of the country for the award. He said 100% digitisation of land records by all other districts will be completed by end of this financial year.

“After the implementation of 5T Charter and by adhering to the principles of “Mo Sarkar”, Odisha has become one of the pioneers in modernisation of land records. Coming to a government office is now a matter of choice than a compulsion. People can access various public services through an array of e-Governance applications from anywhere anytime,” Naveen said.

“By focusing on people and finding solutions to their problems, we have become the best state in Digital India Land Records Modernisation Programme,” he added.

The Chief Minister presented a trophy and citation to the collectors of Angul, Boudh, Bargarh, Bhadrak, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Keonjhar, Khurda, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nayagarh, Nuapada, Rayagada and Sambalpur.

These districts had received Bhoomi Samman award from the President in July for achieving 100% success in Digital India Land Records Modernisation. Odisha has been awarded the Prestigious “Bhoomi Samman” as the best state in India for its outstanding contribution in digitisation of land records.
