Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday dedicated 142 transformed schools in 5 districts to the people.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said total 1075 schools in 30 districts have undergone total make-over under 5T School Transformation programme in the first phase. While 50 schools in Hinjili have been dedicated to people in August, the rest 1025 schools will be inaugurated by November 24, he added.
Naveen dedicated 67 schools in Sundargarh district, 30 in Cuttack, 23 in Balasore, 22 in Nabarangpur and 10 in Kandhamal. He also interacted with the students of these schools through video-conferencing.
The chief minister said, “I want the children of our state to be ahead in every field, be it academic, sports, music or technology. You should dream big and have the confidence to face all challenges in life.”
Stating that the school transformation programme has bridged the urban-rural divide among the school students, he said now the government schools in rural areas also have same atmosphere as private schools.
“An important thing is that the government has reserved 15% of the seats for students of government schools so that they can become doctors and engineers,” the chief minister said.
