Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for a new building of Odisha State Warehousing Corporation’s head office in Bhubaneswar.
The new head office will come up on the premises of Odisha State Warehousing Corporation (OSWC) at Cuttack Road in the city with a cost of Rs 19.6 crore. IDCO has been entrusted with the construction work of the project.
Established in 1958, the OSWC handles warehouses with capacity of 5,21,400 tonne at 68 locations in 30 districts of the state. It provides support to the storage and distribution of agricultural products.
The new 4-storey office building will be constructed to provide basic infrastructure to meet increasing workload of the Corporation.
It will have offices of chairman, managing director, other officers and assistant staff of the corporation. Besides, it will have other facilities including reception room, board room, and visitor’s restroom. The construction of the project is targeted to be completed within 18 months.
