Mumbai: Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede’s security cover has been beefed up after he alleged that two cops were monitoring his movements. He is currently supervising the investigations in the high-profile Mumbai cruise drug bust case.
A number of armed bodyguards, from Mumbai Police and NCB, have been added to his security fleet. His official vehicle has also been changed due to security reasons, India Today reported.
Sameer Wankhede had filed a complaint on Monday that he was being followed by two Mumbai cops when he visited the cemetery where his mother has been buried, India Today reported quoting sources. The two police officials are reportedly from the Oshiwara Police station and they allegedly went to the cemetery to take the CCTV footage to monitor Sameer Wankhede’s movement.
Notably, Sameer Wankhede is currently supervising the investigation in the high-profile Mumbai cruise drug case involving Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale has ordered an inquiry into Sameer Wankhede’s complaint, news agency PTI reported.
