NCC Cadet Dies During Swimming Training In Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: A college student died while taking swimming training in Odisha’s Cuttack city on Saturday.

According to sources, Swapneswar Das, a student of NSM City College in the city, came to the training in the swimming pool of Cuttack Club on the day. Though the student, knew swimming, he was taking training as an NCC cadet, said his family members who stay in Raja Bagicha.

While swimming in the pool, Swapneswar felt uneasy and lost consciousness. The people present there rushed him to City Hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.

His family members and friends, who were presented in the hospital, created a commotion. They accused the swimming trainers of negligence and held them responsible for the death of Swapneswar. They demanded an investigation to bring the culprits to book.

On being informed, IICs of Cantonment and Dargha Bazaar police stations and Cuttack mayor Subash Singh went to the hospital and pacified the agitated family members.

Later, police sent the body for post-mortem and registered an unnatural death case.
