Bhubaneswar: In the wake of a global scare over a highly infectious SARS-CoV2 strain, the Odisha Government has appealed to all people who have returned to the state from the United Kingdom between November 25 and December 23 to register themselves.
Foreigners as well as locals who have returned home during the above mentioned period can contact on the helpline number 104 or 0674-2390466.
They will be monitored by a rapid response team of the Health and Family Welfare department after which measures will be taken as required.
A 34-year-old male UK returnee had reached the city on December 18 and was admitted in the COVID hospital.
He had tested positive for COVID-19 at a private lab after which his samples were sent to RMRC for test using Spike Genome Sequencing technique to trace new strain. he was found negative for the new strain.
