Mumbai: The makers of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s biopic released a new trailer on Tuesday, packed with more footage from the movie that chronicles the life of the PM.
The movie, with actor Vivek Oberoi portraying Modi’s character, is slated to be released on May 24, a day after the election results are announced. The movie, originally scheduled to be released on April 5, had created a furore as it clashed with the poll dates.
In the over two-minute long trailer, Vivek is seen delivering some powerful dialogues, as actors playing different leaders from the opposition party, like Sonia Gandhi and former PM Manmohan Singh, also make an appearance.
The release of the new trailer comes against the backdrop of the actor creating a storm on the social media with a meme in Twitter comparing the election results with the affairs of his ex-beau Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
He has subsequently deleted the tweet and tendered an apology on Tuesday after it generated a backlash.
The National Commission for Women had issued a notice to Oberoi on Monday.
