Balangir: A newborn baby girl was found inside a washroom at the Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Odisha’s Balangir on Saturday.
According to sources, the baby was found abandoned in the washroom of the female medicine general ward by some patients, who informed the nurses on duty. The baby girl was rescued and the authorities concerned were informed about the incident.
Doctors conducted a thorough medical examination of the newborn who was found underweight. The was admitted to the SNCU of the hospital for proper care.
The mother of the baby had apparently abandoned her newborn after delivery at the hospital.
After getting information, the District Child Protection Officer launched a probe into the incident. Further details are awaited
