Kandhamal: A COVID-19 positive woman gave birth to a baby girl, who also tested positive for the virus, at Brahmanapada Community Health Centre (CHC) in Odisha’s Kandhamal district on Saturday.
A pregnant woman of Pandrisuna village under Chakapada block was admitted to the CHC on Friday morning where tests mandatory for a pregnant woman were conducted along with COVID. She tested positive for COVID and was kept in insolation.
On Saturday, she complained of labour pain and gave birth to a girl child at 10.30 am under the supervision of Dr Nishant Nayak, and his team.
The baby weighed is 2.5 kg and is on breastfeed, said Dr Nayak adding that both mother and child are COVID positive and under Corona treatment.
Their health condition is stable, Dr Nayak added.
