New Delhi: The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) on Wednesday advised Paytm FASTag users to procure a new FASTag issued by another bank before March 15.
Based on the Reserve Bank of India guidelines regarding restrictions on Paytm Payments Bank, the Paytm FASTags users will not be able to recharge or top-up the balance from Saturday, the highway authority said in a statement.
However, users can use their existing balance to pay toll beyond the stipulated date.
Switching to another bank will help in avoiding penalties or any double fee charges while commuting on National Highways, it added.
The NHAI also advised Paytm FASTag users to reach out to their respective banks or refer to the FAQs provided on the IHMCL (Indian Highway Management Company Limited) website for seamless travel experience and to avoid inconvenience at toll plazas.
