Bhubaneswar: Delhi police have arrested Okwudiri Paschal, a Nigerian national allegedly involved in hacking the WhatsApp account of Odisha Computer Application Centre’s Chief Executive Officer Manoj Kumar Pattnaik, from Bengaluru, informed Crime Branch (CB) ADG Sanjeeb Panda on Tuesday.
“A two-member CB team from Odisha is on the way to Bengaluru to interrogate him,” he added.
Notably, Nigerian national Chimelum Emmanuel Aniwetalu alias Maurice Degri was arrested from a rented accommodation in Delhi earlier this month for allegedly hacking WhatsApp accounts and sending distress messages to people seeking money.
His associate, operating from Bengaluru, was suspected to have hacked the WhatsApp account of OCAC CEO.
Maurice along with others reportedly operated the syndicate from Delhi and Bengaluru.
