Bhubaneswar: The night temperature in Odisha is likely to fall by 2-3 degree Celsius during the next 2 days and rise gradually again by 2-3 degree Celsius in the subsequent 2-3 days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Sunday.
The mercury has been rising gradually in the state with G Udayagiri recording the lowest minimum temperature of 7.6 degree Celsius in the last 24 hours against 7 degree Celsius on Saturday and 6.8 degree Celsius on Friday.
In its monthly outlook for February, the MeT office indicated that the entire state will experience above normal daytime temperature this month. The probability of coastal districts being more affected is high. The day temperature is likely to hover around 35 degree Celsius during the next five days. The capital city’s mean daily maximum temperature for the month of February is 32.5 degree Celsius.
This rise in temperature is being attributed to weak La Nina conditions and no significant rainfall activity.
