Puri: Antigen and RT-PCR tests of Class IX, X and XII students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Konark in Odisha’s Puri district were conducted on Monday after nine hostel boarders tested positive for COVID-19.
A total of 107 students underwent antigen tests for the virus on Sunday and another 66 on Monday. RT-PCR test of 103 students and staff have also been conducted, sources said.
Meanwhile, the infected students are in quarantine and have been provided with the required medicine, mask and hand sanitiser. Twenty-four isolation rooms have been set up for the students, the school headmaster informed.
Puri Collector Samarth Verma has directed for closure of the school and people are barred from entering the premises. Contact tracing has begun and the school and hostel premises are being sanitised, the sources added.
